GreenStreet is a commercial development in Downtown Houston covering three 1.4-acre city blocks between Dallas and Polk streets. Its 11-storey NRG Tower rises above two levels of retail space, and a curved facade carries the white lettering "BOOKS A MILLION" above glass doors marked "XXI". A linear urban park with water features runs along the blocks.
The complex originally opened in 2008 as Houston Pavilions and underwent major renovation and rebranding to GreenStreet in 2013. This transformation brought new outdoor areas that reshaped how the site looks and functions today.
The name GreenStreet comes from the 2013 rebranding, when a linear urban park with water features at Caroline and Main was laid across the three blocks. Tenants have included House of Blues, Lucky Strike Lanes and Pete's Dueling Piano Bar. On November 1, 2022, rapper Takeoff of Migos was killed outside 810 Billiards & Bowling on the second floor.
The site is easy to navigate on foot with wide pathways connecting retail, dining, and activity areas throughout the development. Visitors should plan to walk the entire space and take advantage of seating areas provided for breaks.
The 11-storey office tower is named NRG Tower after its main tenant, which took ten floors in a 2009 lease. The building at 1201 Fannin St. was renamed around March 2011 once NRG staff had moved in. The tower originally opened in 2008 with no tenants at all.
