Manor Downs operated thoroughbred and quarter horse racing events on its 44-acre grounds with dedicated viewing areas for spectators throughout the racing season.
Established in 1975 by Frances Carr and Sam Cutler, Manor Downs developed from a training stable into the oldest pari-mutuel horse racetrack in Texas.
The racetrack hosted major cultural events beyond racing, including Farm Aid 2 concerts featuring performances by Blondie and the Grateful Dead.
As a class 2 racetrack, Manor Downs conducted racing operations for 44 days annually and offered simulcast racing options for visitors.
The venue featured four graded stakes races, including the Grade I Manor Downs Futurity with a substantial purse of 300,000 dollars.
