Texas Chainsaw House, Horror film location turned restaurant in Kingsland, Texas, United States.
The Texas Chainsaw House is a two-story farmhouse with Queen Anne styling located next to train tracks in Kingsland, Texas. White wooden siding covers the exterior, while gabled rooflines and porches reflect late Victorian building methods.
The building served as the main filming site for a horror production in Round Rock during 1973. Relocation to Kingsland happened in 1998 when new owners decided to convert it into a restaurant.
Guests dine in the same rooms where actors performed decades ago, surrounded by props and production photographs. This arrangement turns a meal into a walk through cinema memory without staging or recreation.
The restaurant opens Tuesday through Saturday between 5 PM and 9 PM, and on Sunday between 11 AM and 2 PM. Reservations help on weekends when more visitors arrive.
Moving the building required cutting it into seven separate sections before a carpenter named Anthony Mayfield reassembled the pieces. This restoration took several months and involved rebuilding load-bearing structures.
