Oaklawn Plantation, Historic plantation house in Natchez, Louisiana.

The three-story mansion features fourteen chimneys, a large gallery, and French Creole architectural elements across its 4-acre estate.

Built in 1830 for Narcisse Prudhomme, the plantation housed 104 enslaved individuals who maintained the cotton fields and supported daily operations.

The property stands as part of the Cane River National Heritage Area, preserving architectural and agricultural traditions of nineteenth-century Louisiana.

The Historic American Buildings Survey maintains extensive documentation of the property through photographs, prints, and architectural drawings available for research.

The plantation belongs to Robert Harling, writer of Steel Magnolias, maintaining its connection to Louisiana's creative community.
