The two-story mansion features 28 columns, each measuring three feet square and extending thirty-five feet high across wide galleries.
Built between 1839 and 1841 by architect James Gallier Sr, the plantation belonged to Duncan Farrar Kenner, who managed substantial agricultural holdings.
The mansion incorporates architectural elements reflecting the antebellum period, with its design representing the wealth of Louisiana sugar plantation owners.
Shell Oil Company maintains the 34-acre property for corporate functions, following an extensive restoration completed in 2015.
The plantation served as a filming location for multiple productions, including the movies Band of Angels and The Beguiled.
