Louisiana Tech University Arboretum

Louisiana Tech University Arboretum is a botanical garden on the university's South Campus featuring forest areas, native plants, and a pond. Across 50 acres, different tree species and plant types are spread throughout, accessible to visitors on paved walkways.

The site began in the mid-20th century as a pine plantation and was later expanded into an arboretum. During its growth, various tree species from other regions were added and the project developed across multiple phases.

The site functions as a teaching space where students and visitors encounter different tree species and learn about local plant life. It reveals how the university connects education to the natural world around campus.

Paved paths cross the grounds and allow for exploring regardless of changing weather conditions. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and allow enough time to walk through the different plant areas.
