Afro-American Sons and Daughters Hospital, Historic medical facility in Yazoo City, United States.

The Afro-American Sons and Daughters Hospital is a brick building in Yazoo City with large windows and symmetrical architectural details that reflect 1920s institutional design. The structure features solid construction and clean geometric forms typical of that building era.

The hospital was founded in 1928 and served African American patients during segregation until 1966. It was operated by a fraternal organization that had grown to over 35,000 members by the 1930s.

The hospital served as a vital place where the local African American community could access medical care and gather together. Its operation by a fraternal organization gave it a special role beyond medicine, making it a center of community life.

The building is located in an accessible part of Yazoo City and can be viewed from the outside. The site received National Register of Historic Places status in 2006 and Mississippi Landmark designation in 2005.

Under Dr. Lloyd Tevis Miller's leadership, the hospital achieved lower death rates compared to other African American healthcare facilities in the South. These remarkable outcomes were accomplished despite segregation and limited resources.
