Ntaba kaNdoda, Memorial monument in Dimbaza, South Africa
The Ntaba kaNdoda memorial stands on elevated ground in Dimbaza, featuring an open-air arena that accommodates 18,000 people for ceremonies and gatherings.
Established in 1981 during the Ciskei homeland period, the monument cost 860,000 Rand and was commissioned by President Lennox Sebe to honor Xhosa chiefs.
The memorial takes its name from Khoi-Chief Ndoda, who met his end during conflicts with Xhosa groups in the 18th century.
Visitors can access the memorial site and view the life-size statue while learning about the regional history through informational displays and guided tours.
The Heroes Acre section of the memorial contains specific burial grounds dedicated to political figures and chiefs from the Ciskei region.
