Jean Trundle and Vic Hardgraves established the Brisbane Amateur Theatres in 1936, which later became Brisbane Arts Theatre with its permanent venue opening in 1961.

After operating from its Petrie Terrace location for over 60 years, the theatre company will continue staging productions in various Brisbane venues from June 2024.
