The Hayworth Theatre on Wilshire Boulevard is a Spanish Colonial Revival building with a main auditorium seating about 200 guests. The upper floor contains office spaces while the ground level retains its original projection booth.
Architect Stiles O. Clements designed the building in 1926 as The Masque Theatre, which was later renamed the Vagabond Theatre in the 1950s. These name changes reflect how the venue adapted to different forms of entertainment over its decades of operation.
Today the space functions as a comedy venue where performers work closely with audiences in an intimate setting. This type of entertainment has become central to the neighborhood's cultural life.
