Fletcher Hall, Student residence hall at University of Florida, USA
Fletcher Hall is a three-story student dormitory on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville. The building features interconnected rectangular sections linked by passageways that extend to nearby structures.
The building was completed in 1938 and named after U.S. Senator Duncan U. Fletcher from Florida. It served as one of the early residential complexes supporting campus expansion during that period.
The hall forms part of the University of Florida Campus Historic District, recognized in the National Register of Historic Places since 1989.
Student rooms contain two twin beds, desks, shelving, and storage for personal items. Access is convenient through multiple entrances connected to the main campus pathways.
When viewed from above, the building forms half of the letter F within the layout of the Murphee Area on campus. This architectural arrangement is not obvious at ground level but reveals an intentional design concept from an aerial perspective.
