Shiloh, Florida, Ghost town in Brevard County, Florida
Shiloh is an abandoned settlement in northern Brevard County, located next to the Canaveral National Seashore. The area sits on land that is now used by NASA and can be reached via Kennedy Parkway.
The settlement grew into a small community with a school that operated from 1925 onward. Residents had to leave their homes when NASA acquired the land for Kennedy Space Center development.
The North Brevard Historical Society maintains records of the Shiloh School, which operated in the area starting from 1925.
The site is reachable via Kennedy Parkway (Route 3), which marks the boundary between Brevard and Volusia counties. The area is relatively flat and open, with good sight lines across the land.
The location is favored by astronomers for its dark sky conditions and is used by Kennedy Space Center staff and the Brevard Astronomical Society for observations. The absence of light pollution in this remote area makes it valuable for stargazing.
