Gateway Center Arena is an indoor arena in College Park, Georgia, designed to host sports events, concerts, and other live shows. The floor layout can be reconfigured depending on the event, making it usable for basketball, ice hockey, or stage performances.
Ground was broken on February 12, 2018, for the $45 million arena, with representatives of the city, the Georgia International Convention Center and the Atlanta Hawks present. The College Park Skyhawks, the Hawks' G League affiliate, moved from Erie, Pennsylvania, in 2019, and played their first game here on November 21, 2019, losing 112-120 to the Delaware Blue Coats before 2,912 spectators. The Atlanta Dream of the WNBA moved in from Atlanta's State Farm Arena for the 2020 season.
The arena sits just outside Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in College Park, making it easy to reach by MARTA rail or by car. Parking is available on site, and the surrounding convention center complex makes it straightforward to navigate on foot once you arrive.
The arena sits next to the Georgia International Convention Center and is linked to Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport by the ATL SkyTrain, an automated people mover. The 3,500-seat venue cost $45 million to build, with the groundbreaking held on February 12, 2018.
