Whitlock Avenue Historic District

Whitlock Avenue Historic District is a residential neighborhood containing more than 100 buildings built primarily in Greek Revival style along with other period architecture. The homes spread across a large area and showcase different construction methods and decorative approaches from various decades.

The neighborhood developed from the early 1800s through the 1930s as wealthy residents built homes in the area. Its historical importance was recognized in 1989 when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
