Abbeville County Courthouse

Abbeville County Courthouse is a monumental two-story brick building with a large Ionic columned portico and decorative exterior details that reflect its official purpose. Inside, administrative offices occupy the ground floor while the main courtroom on the second floor features three stained glass windows positioned behind the judge's bench.

This building was constructed in 1908 following a fire that destroyed its predecessor, marking a turning point in the site's role as a courthouse. The location had already served judicial purposes through multiple earlier structures before receiving this new Beaux-Arts design.
