First United Lutheran Church

First United Lutheran Church is a Lutheran congregation in the North of Panhandle neighborhood that currently shares a building with St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church near the University of San Francisco campus. The space contains typical church rooms arranged for worship services and community gatherings.

The church was founded in 1886 as a memorial church and became the first Lutheran congregation in California to hold services in English. This beginning marked a turning point for how Lutheranism developed on the West Coast.
