Crane Creek Regional Park, Regional park in Sonoma County, California, US.
Crane Creek Regional Park is a nature area with grasslands, oak woodlands, and seasonal wetlands near Rohnert Park. The property spans 128 acres and contains diverse habitats for plants and wildlife.
Robert Crane established the land as a homestead in 1852. The property was purchased by Sonoma County in 1975 with funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
The name comes from the Crane family and the creek running through the land. Visitors find bird watchers and nature lovers using the water and wooded areas throughout the park.
Visitors can use 3.5 miles of hiking trails, including a wheelchair-accessible creek path with compacted gravel surfaces and gentle slopes. The paths work well for walking and offer different difficulty levels.
A botanical study from 1991 revealed damage to the park's wildflower meadows. This discovery led to specific restrictions on bicycles and horses in sensitive areas to protect the plants.
