Niles Depot Museum, Railway museum in Niles District, Fremont, US.

The Niles Depot Museum occupies the former Southern Pacific Railroad colonnade-style passenger depot built in 1901, together with the adjacent freight depot, in the Niles District of Fremont, California. The museum is run by the Niles Depot Historical Foundation and holds exhibits and artifacts on the early Southern Pacific and Western Pacific railroads and on today's Union Pacific and Amtrak. The 1901 station was restored in 1988 and moved to Niles Plaza in 2009.

The Southern Pacific Railroad first opened a station at Niles in 1870, but it quickly became too small for growing traffic. The current building was constructed in 1901 to handle increased passenger and freight demands.

Two detailed model railway layouts inside depict the Southern Pacific mainline running from Niles to San Jose, complete with industrial areas and passenger terminals. These layouts help visitors understand the transportation routes that shaped the region.

The museum occupies the former Southern Pacific passenger depot and freight depot in the Niles District; the 1901 station was moved to Niles Plaza in 2009. It is run by the Niles Depot Historical Foundation and opens at weekends, so confirm current days before travelling, as hours can change for events.

The Tri-City Society of Model Engineers builds two model railways of Niles and the surrounding area inside the museum. The layouts are still under construction, so what visitors see is work in progress rather than a finished display.
