Linden, Census-designated place in San Joaquin County, California
Linden is a small settlement in San Joaquin County, California, located about 13 miles east of Stockton. The community spreads along Highway 26 and is surrounded by fruit orchards and agricultural fields.
The community developed in the 19th century as an agricultural center in the fertile San Joaquin Valley plain. The planting of fruit trees shaped the area from the early 20th century onward.
The area is known for its cherry trees, and local farms open their orchards to visitors in spring. Many residents maintain family traditions in fruit growing that have been passed down through generations.
The settlement sits directly on Highway 26, which forms the main road between Stockton and the eastern counties. Small shops and restaurants line the road and are easy to reach.
Baseball player Aaron Judge spent his childhood here and trained on the local sports fields. Despite the small size of the settlement, this connection occasionally draws sports fans.
