Pre's Trail, Running trail in Eugene, Oregon, US
The four-mile path features three interconnected loops with wood chip surfaces, winding through Alton Baker Park along the Willamette River north bank.
Following Steve Prefontaine's experiences in Europe, Lane County collaborated with Oregon Track Club and coach Bill Bowerman to establish this trail in 1975.
Eugene's reputation as Track Town USA strengthens through this trail, which hosts numerous cross-country competitions, marathons, and school athletic events.
Three parking areas provide access to the trail near Autzen Stadium, with guide signs and maps located at each primary trailhead entrance.
The trail incorporates sections of a former landfill site, creating an innovative recreational space that transformed unused land into a community resource.
