Sunriver

Sunriver is a residential community spread across a forested mountain plateau near a major river system. The layout includes neighborhoods, sports fields, recreation centers, and golf courses arranged throughout the area and connected by paved routes.

The land was home to a military training facility during World War II that trained combat engineers until 1944. After the war, the site was converted into a residential community.

The community features an extensive network of paved paths and green spaces that weave through neighborhoods and connect residents to gathering points. People regularly use these routes to move around, and they serve as the backbone of how the place functions day to day.

The terrain is hilly throughout, and routes are clearly marked so you can navigate easily on your own. Visitors should prepare for variable weather, as the elevation brings snow in winter and intense sun in summer.

The area experiences an almost Mediterranean climate at high elevation, creating rare winters that support snow sports alongside long dry summers. This unusual combination draws people who want outdoor activities across different seasons.
