Hotel deLuxe, historic hotel in Portland, Oregon, USA
Hotel deLuxe is an eight-story building with neoclassical design located in Portland. The structure features a U-shaped layout with a central light courtyard and approximately 130 guest rooms, with a brick exterior and classical proportions throughout.
The building was constructed in 1911 as the Mallory Hotel, financed by lawyer and politician Rufus Mallory who envisioned a hotel for Portland travelers. In 2006, it was renamed Hotel deLuxe and renovated with design elements inspired by Hollywood cinema from the 1920s to 1940s.
The name reflects the hotel's early 20th-century aspiration to luxury and refined hospitality. Visitors today experience the neoclassical design and vintage film stills displayed throughout, which evoke a sense of classic Hollywood glamour and transport them to another era.
The hotel sits within walking distance of theaters, restaurants, and parks in downtown Portland. Its central location makes it easy to navigate the neighborhood and explore nearby attractions on foot.
The interior features approximately 400 stills from classic films displayed throughout, paying homage to Hollywood's golden age and creating a cinematic experience for guests. This collection turns the space into a gallery of film history, adding an unexpected nostalgic layer to the stay.
