Marymere Falls, Forest waterfall in Olympic National Park, United States

Marymere Falls is a waterfall in the dense forest of Olympic National Park that plunges roughly 90 feet (27 meters) down dark rock faces covered in green moss. The cascade creates a white torrent framed by thick forest vegetation that defines this area of the park.

The waterfall was named after Mary Alice Barnes, a member of a family that settled on the Olympic Peninsula in the late 19th century. The name reflects the era when European settlers began to explore and establish themselves in this forested region.

The waterfall held special significance for the Native American peoples of the Olympic Peninsula and featured in their traditional ceremonies. Water from this place was woven into the spiritual and daily practices of the communities living nearby.

The trail to the waterfall is a round trip hike of about 2 kilometers with wooden boardwalks and two separate viewing platforms. The route is well-maintained and passes through the forest with some modest uphill sections.

The waterfall maintains strong water flow year-round, especially during winter when rainfall is heaviest in the region. Spring brings an extra surge as snow melts from higher elevations in the surrounding mountains.
