Gold Mountain, Mountain summit in Kitsap County, United States.
Gold Mountain is the highest point on the Kitsap Peninsula, rising to 1,761 feet (537 meters) above the surrounding forest. From the summit, you can see Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains stretching across the horizon, along with expanses of dense woodland characteristic of the region.
The area became a communications hub in the 1980s when the Western Washington Repeater Association built a radio station at the summit. That infrastructure continues to support communications across the region today.
The mountain forms part of the Green Mountain State Forest, providing recreational opportunities for local residents through maintained hiking trails.
Access requires a Discover Pass and you can reach the Gold Creek Trailhead by driving from Seabeck Highway to Tahuya Lake Road. The trails are well-maintained and clearly marked, making navigation straightforward.
The summit hosts a GPS reference station that performs precision measurements for the region. The eastern side also contains water storage facilities that serve the Bremerton watershed system.
