Scenic Beach State Park

Scenic Beach State Park is a coastal recreation area spanning about 120 acres along Hood Canal, featuring roughly 1,500 feet (450 meters) of waterfront. The land includes forest trails, mountain views, and camping facilities distributed across the grounds.

The land originally operated as an auto camp until 1959, when Washington State purchased it in 1963. The site opened to the public as a state park in 1975.

The historic Emel House from 1911 stands on the grounds and serves as a venue for local gatherings and celebrations. Visitors can observe how this building anchors the community's connection to the place.

The park provides around 50 camping spots with restroom facilities, showers, and drinking water distributed throughout the grounds. Conditions vary by season, so planning ahead helps visitors prepare appropriately.

Native rhododendrons grow naturally throughout the park, creating colorful blooms among the coastal forest. These flowering displays are a seasonal feature that often surprises visitors.
