Norseman Statue

The Norseman is a steel and concrete statue depicting a Norse warrior at the intersection of Viking Avenue and Lindvig Way in downtown Poulsbo. The figure stands at the southeast corner and serves as a focal point in the town's commercial district.

The statue was unveiled in 2012 and replaced a wooden sign that previously marked the intersection. The installation was funded through a community beautification fund dedicated to enhancing the downtown area.

The inscription 'Velkommen til Poulsbo' on the statue's base honors the Norwegian roots that define this community. It serves as a visible reminder of how residents maintain and celebrate their heritage through public landmarks.

The statue is located at an easily accessible corner in downtown and can be reached on foot from nearby shops and restaurants. Visitors can view it anytime during the day as it stands in a public outdoor space with good visibility.

The warrior figure has become an informal gathering spot for local Girl Scout troops who regularly use it as a meeting point throughout the year. This function has given the statue an additional role beyond being a historical landmark.
