Lake Kokanee, reservoir on the North Fork Skokomish River in Mason County, Washington state, United States of America
Lake Kokanee is a reservoir in Mason County, Washington, created by damming a river to hold water for local use and power generation. The Cushman Dam No. 2 controls its water level and supplies electricity to the Tacoma Power system.
The reservoir was created when Cushman Dam No. 2 was built years ago to store water and generate electricity for the region. This project has shaped water and power management in Washington for decades.
The lake has a gentle shoreline that is easy to access from the land, allowing fishing without needing boat ramps. Early morning and evening are the best times to fish when the fish are most active.
The lake is also known locally as Lower Lake Cushman and serves as part of a system that generates electricity for the Tacoma Power grid. Rainbow trout are regularly stocked here and can grow to around one and a quarter pounds, providing good fishing chances.
