Mount Ellinor, Mountain summit in Mason County, United States
Mount Ellinor rises to 1814 meters in the Olympic Mountains, featuring two distinct hiking trails through dense forests and rocky terrain.
Surveyor George Davidson named the mountain after his fiancée Ellinor Fauntleroy in 1853, while also naming nearby peaks after her siblings.
The mountain serves as a frequent destination for outdoor photographers who document the seasonal changes and resident mountain goat populations.
Hikers can choose between a 6.2-mile lower trail starting at 2600 feet or a steeper 3.2-mile upper trail beginning at 3500 feet.
During winter months, specialized avalanche training becomes essential as the mountain's steep slopes accumulate significant snowfall patterns.
