Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club, Golf course on Eagle Mountain in Coquitlam, Canada
Westwood Plateau is an 18-hole golf course that stretches over 6,770 yards through granite rock faces and Douglas Firs while incorporating the natural mountain landscape into its design. The layout uses slopes, ravines, and native rock formations as playing features throughout the rounds.
The course was designed by Michael Hurdzan, who skillfully shaped the natural features of Eagle Mountain into a championship-level playing field. His work combines the existing landscape elements with challenging play requirements.
The clubhouse shows west coast design with wooden beams and large windows that flood the space with light and bring golfers together for events and gatherings. It serves as a natural meeting place where players socialize before and after their rounds.
Players receive motorized carts equipped with GPS systems that provide information about each hole and accurate distance measurements. Reservations can be made up to seven days in advance through phone or online booking.
The course intentionally preserves wildlife habitats while golfers play among natural granite formations and mountain ravines. This balance between sport and nature protection makes it a distinctive experience.
