Meher Mount

Meher Mount is a spiritual center on a mountain property near Ojai sitting at about 2500 feet elevation. The grounds feature natural trails and spaces for meditation scattered throughout the landscape.

The site gained recognition when Indian spiritual teacher Meher Baba visited the property in the mid-twentieth century during his travels across America. These journeys connected different spiritual traditions and shaped his lasting influence worldwide.

The site preserves Meher Baba's teachings that present different faiths and philosophies as interconnected parts of a greater whole. Visitors encounter handwritten notes and books showing how this understanding shapes daily life on the property.

The grounds are open to visitors Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5 PM, with support from resident managers on site. Wearing comfortable shoes for the trails and bringing water is helpful, especially on warmer days.

The grounds were developed and maintained by followers of Meher Baba, creating a bridge between Indian spiritual traditions and the California mountain landscape. This blend shows how global spiritual ideas take root in local settings.
