Rabbi Jacob Pressman established Camp Ramah California in 1956, making it a central destination for Jewish youth from the western United States.
Camp Ramah divides participants into age-specific groups called Edot, offering specialized programs from third grade through high school.
The summer program splits into two four-week sessions, accommodating over 1,350 campers with options for financial assistance and special needs support.
In 2007, the camp installed a 270-kilowatt solar power system, becoming the largest private non-profit solar installation in California at that time.
