Camp Ramah in California

Camp Ramah in California is a summer facility for Jewish youth located in Ojai Valley, spanning several acres of land. The property contains residential buildings, recreation areas, and a distinctive circular-design synagogue.

Rabbi Jacob Pressman founded the facility in 1956 as a center for Jewish youth from western United States. This event started a tradition that has continued and grown over the following decades.

The community here practices Jewish traditions and celebrates holidays together throughout the summer sessions. These shared practices shape how people interact and spend their days at the camp.

The facility operates two four-week summer sessions to accommodate more than 1,350 participants each season. Financial assistance and support for special needs are available to those who require it.

In 2007 the site installed a 270-kilowatt solar panel system, which was then the largest such private installation for a nonprofit organization in California. This reflects the facility's commitment to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility.
