Colorado Belle, casino hotel in Nevada
The Colorado Belle is a hotel and casino in Laughlin, Nevada, built to resemble a 19th-century paddle-wheel riverboat. The structure extends over 600 feet (180 meters) with six decks and more than 1,100 rooms across two towers, offering river and desert views from many guest rooms.
The Colorado Belle opened in November 1980 and became part of Laughlin's growing gaming scene. The property passed through several owners including Circus Circus Enterprises, Mandalay Resort Group, and MGM Mirage, before Golden Entertainment acquired it in 2019 and closed it in March 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Colorado Belle became a familiar landmark in Laughlin over the decades, where many visitors returned regularly. Its riverboat design and riverside setting connected guests to the town's tradition of river-based entertainment and gaming, which shaped the character of the community.
The location was easily accessible and accepted various payment methods including Mastercard, Visa, and American Express. Its central position in Laughlin made it convenient for river activities, sightseeing, and access to local shops and dining options within walking distance.
A small fire started in a bathroom exhaust fan inside the closed building in May 2024, causing no significant damage. The vacant structure with its distinctive boat shape remains a visual landmark along the riverbank while awaiting its future use.
