Sahara Las Vegas, Hotel and casino on Las Vegas Strip, US
Sahara Las Vegas is a 26-story building with 1,613 rooms at the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester. The property combines lodging with a gaming floor, a theater for live performances, and several restaurants under one roof.
The property opened in 1952 and was among the first major resorts at this corner of the street. After a period of closure, it was fully renovated and reopened in 2019 under its original name.
The resort takes its name from the desert and shows this connection in the lobby through wall art featuring sand dunes and palm trees. Guests often gather in the bars after shows, where performers sometimes circulate spontaneously between the tables.
The front desk stays open around the clock and offers check-in from 4:00 pm with checkout by 11:00 am. A nightly resort fee adds to room rates and covers amenities like Wi-Fi and the fitness center.
The building stood empty for several years and changed its name twice during that time before returning under the old title. The tower top glows at night in shifting colors and is visible from far down the street.
