Big Shot

Big Shot is a pneumatic tower on the observation deck of The STRAT Hotel in Las Vegas that launches riders 160 feet (49 meters) upward. The acceleration reaches 45 miles per hour (72 kilometers per hour) and sends all passengers skyward at the same moment.

The attraction opened on April 29, 1996, as one of the first two rides on The STRAT tower. It drew more visitors than the other offering that launched at the same time.

The Big Shot represents Las Vegas's transformation into a destination that combines entertainment with extreme thrills at extraordinary heights above the city.

Visitors must be at least 48 inches (122 centimeters) tall and can buy single tickets or day passes. The experience takes place on an open deck at 921 feet (281 meters), so clothing for shifting winds is helpful.

The experience lifts passengers from 921 feet to 1,081 feet (281 to 330 meters) above ground, placing it among the highest thrill rides worldwide. Strong winds can occasionally delay or halt operations.
