Echelon Place, Unfinished construction project on Las Vegas Strip, United States
Echelon Place was a planned resort development on the Las Vegas Strip that was designed to include multiple hotel towers, gaming floors, and numerous restaurants within one large complex. The project aimed to create a diversified hospitality destination with different branded properties operating together.
Boyd Gaming launched this project in 2006 to replace the adjoining Stardust Resort, but construction halted in 2008 when the financial crisis hit the economy. Years later, the site was purchased by Genting Group and eventually transformed into an operating resort destination.
The development incorporated multiple luxury hotel brands including Shangri-La, Delano, and Mondrian to create a diversified hospitality complex.
The site sits along a central part of the Las Vegas Strip and connects directly to main roadways for easy navigation. Visitors can walk through the surrounding area easily since the flat terrain makes getting around straightforward.
The original design featured a 140,000-square-foot casino floor and a 500-million-dollar shopping center developed with General Growth Properties.
