Morelli House, Historic house in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Morelli House is a one-story, flat-roofed building clad in pale off-white panels with narrow darker trim along the roofline. Its street front is a long plain wall above a low sign base; at the center stands a light stone monument sign reading "THE MORELLI HOUSE" over "JUNIOR LEAGUE OF LAS VEGAS", with a band of geometric openwork blocks below. Trees partly screen the front.

Built in 1959 at 52 Country Club Drive inside the Desert Inn Country Club, the house was the home of Sands Hotel bandleader Antonio Morelli and his wife Helen. It was moved to 861 East Bridger Avenue in September 2001, and designation as a landmark followed the move.

The original owner Antonio Morelli worked as a musical director in a major showroom, linking the house to the city's entertainment industry of that era. Visitors today can experience the personal story of a family living in Las Vegas during this vibrant period.

The house was physically moved from its original lot to save it from demolition, an unusual preservation tactic. This relocation made it possible to preserve an example of American residential life from that period.
