Canyon Diablo, Natural canyon in Coconino County, Arizona.

Canyon Diablo extends through northern Arizona with steep cliffs and rocky formations, creating a significant geological feature in the desert landscape.

Lieutenant Amiel Weeks Whipple discovered and named Canyon Diablo during his survey expedition along the 35th parallel in December 1853.

The canyon's name originates from Spanish, while the Navajo people refer to it as Kin Łigaaí, reflecting the multicultural heritage of the region.

Access to Canyon Diablo requires navigation through dirt roads from Interstate 40, with visitors advised to use high clearance vehicles.

The Canyon Diablo meteorite, which created the nearby Meteor Crater, takes its name from this geological formation located three miles away.
