Dajing Ge Pavilion

Dajing Ge Pavilion is a blend of temple and museum in Shanghai's Huangpu district. The structure combines a place of worship with exhibition space where historical objects and materials are displayed.

The pavilion preserves the last remaining section of Shanghai's fortification wall, erected during the Ming Dynasty in the 1550s. This wall was once part of a major defensive system that surrounded the city.

The pavilion displays photographs and artifacts from Shanghai's past that visitors can see firsthand. The exhibition tells the story of life in the city during earlier times through its collections.

The building is located on Dajing Lu and is open throughout the week, allowing visitors to stop by according to their schedule. The entrance is easily accessible on foot, and there are information boards to help you navigate.

The preserved wall section displays engraved names of emperors from the Qing Dynasty, allowing visitors to see how ancient craftspeople recorded information. These inscriptions still help confirm the exact construction period of the wall today.
