Cheyenne Arapaho Hall, Student residence at University of Colorado Boulder, US
Cheyenne Arapaho Hall is a four-story residence hall at University of Colorado Boulder with two distinct wings connected by a main lobby. The building houses around 418 first-year students and features furnished rooms equipped with extra-long twin beds, desks, closets, and small refrigerators.
The building first opened in 1954 as Fleming Hall, then became known as Nichols Hall from 1961 onward. In 1989, it received its current name to recognize the Native American nations connected to this region.
The residence hall carries the names of two Native American nations since students advocated for this change in the late 1980s. This choice reflects how the university acknowledges the peoples who inhabited the region long before the campus existed.
The hall offers tours of common areas and the central lobby where prospective students can get a feel for campus living. Access to residential floors is restricted to residents and their authorized guests.
The residence underwent a major renovation in 2007 that installed contemporary bathrooms and energy-efficient systems throughout. This update improved living conditions while maintaining the building's original structural character.
