Cove Hot Springs Pool
The Cove Hot Springs Pool is an outdoor swimming pool in Oregon built directly over a natural hot spring source. The concrete pool measures approximately 60 feet long by 65 feet wide and is continuously supplied with fresh mineral water from underground.
The pool was constructed roughly 75 years ago over the natural spring and has served the community as a recreational destination ever since. It has become an integral part of the region's outdoor traditions and local heritage.
The name comes from the English word 'cove,' referring to a small sheltered bay or inlet. Locals use the pool as a gathering place for relaxation and community time, especially during the summer season.
The pool operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day and is open during daylight hours without complicated rules. Parking is available for vehicles and RVs, with changing rooms, bathrooms, a snack bar, and playground all located on the grounds.
The spring emerges through a small dark opening at the pool bottom, delivering roughly 110 gallons per minute with no filtration needed. The water contains natural minerals such as sodium carbonate and silica, making chemical treatments like chlorine completely unnecessary.
