Columbia Gardens, Amusement park in Butte, Montana, US
Columbia Gardens was an amusement park located at the base of mountains southeast of Butte featuring rides, a baseball stadium, and various entertainment facilities. The park offered visitors a mix of attractions for families and sports activities in a naturally scenic setting.
William A. Clark established the park in 1899 as a recreational destination for the local community. The site became an important gathering location for various community events during the early 1900s.
The park served as a significant gathering place for labor movement events, including Frank Little's notable 1917 speech to 6,000 attendees.
The park no longer exists as the area was later taken over by mining operations. Visitors today can only explore old stories and historical records to learn more about the former site.
Unlike other exclusive venues such as the Silver Bow Club, Columbia Gardens provided recreational access to all social classes in the mining community.
