The sandstone Missoula County Courthouse features a copper-domed clock tower and stands at 200 West Broadway, occupying two acres of land.
The structure, designed by architect A.J. Gibson and constructed between 1908 and 1910, replaced an earlier courthouse that had become insufficient for the county's needs.
Eight historical murals by Edgar S. Paxson decorate the main south entrance, commissioned for $1,000 to represent significant moments in local history.
The courthouse maintains its role as a governmental center, housing administrative offices and courtrooms while providing essential public services to Missoula County residents.
A two-ton bell resides within the clock tower, marking time for the community since the building's completion in the early twentieth century.
