The church building features pointed arches, steep rooflines, and vertical elements characteristic of Gothic Revival architecture designed by Herman Preusse.
Built in 1902 to replace the original 1883 Mary Queen of Heaven Parish, the church received recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
The church represents the religious traditions of Catholic settlers who established their community presence in eastern Washington during the late 19th century.
Located at North First and B Street in Sprague, the church maintains regular mass schedules and continues to serve its congregation.
The building stands as one of the few remaining examples of Herman Preusse's ecclesiastical architecture in eastern Washington.
