Western Financial Place, Indoor sports arena in Cranbrook, Canada
Western Financial Place is a multi-purpose arena in Cranbrook featuring a regulation ice rink measuring 200 feet long and 85 feet wide with seating for 4,654 spectators. The facility also includes an aquatics center and can be adapted for different types of events.
Construction of the facility began in 1998 and the arena opened in October 2000. The project represented a major investment in community sports infrastructure for the Kootenay region.
The facility served as the home arena for the Kootenay Ice WHL team until 2019 and now hosts the Cranbrook Bucks BCHL team. Local sports programs continue to use the space for training and competitive events.
The venue is easily accessible by car with ample parking available for visitors. The building features accessible entrances and uses an online ticket selection system for booking events.
The venue transforms from a sports arena seating around 4,200 people into a concert hall with 6,000-capacity through flexible reconfiguration of its interior layout. This adaptability allows the space to host a wider range of events that serve the community.
