Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park

Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park, Provincial park in East Kootenay, Canada.

Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park is a protected area in the Kootenay Range of the Rocky Mountains with two lakes offering fishing and hiking opportunities. The landscape combines mountain forests with open shorelines where water and wilderness meet.

This land served as a seasonal hunting ground for the K'tunaxa people, who held deep ties to the territory for thousands of years. The connection between the place and this first nation runs back through multiple centuries of use.

The natural hot springs at Lussier emerge from the mountainside and feed into green pools along the Lussier River. The warm mineral water draws visitors seeking a natural bathing experience set within the mountains.

Five campgrounds spread throughout the park with over one hundred sites featuring tent pads, toilets, and picnic tables. The access roads are passable by car, and facilities work best during the warmer months.

Both lakes hold self-sustaining populations of rainbow trout that thrive without artificial stocking interventions. Alces Lake stands apart as a fly-fishing-only destination, which makes it notable among anglers seeking that particular method.
