Sambaa K'e, Indigenous territorial hamlet in Northwest Territories, Canada.
The settlement sits on the shores of Trout Lake at 495 meters elevation, surrounded by forests in the Dehcho Region of Northwest Territories.
Founded as a trading post in 1796, the community changed its name from Trout Lake to Sambaa K'e in 2016 to honor its Indigenous heritage.
The Sambaa K'e First Nation maintains strong connections to South Slavey language, with 45 residents speaking it as their primary language.
The hamlet receives mail weekly by charter plane and operates a small general store, health center, and seasonal fishing lodge for visitors.
Without permanent road access, residents rely on winter roads and the Sambaa K'e Aerodrome for transportation throughout the year.
