Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge, Road bridge in Brunei-Muara District, Brunei
The Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge extends 30 kilometers across Brunei Bay, connecting the mainland with the Temburong District through a dual-carriageway system.
The construction of this major infrastructure project began in 2014 and reached completion in 2019, with an investment of 1.6 billion Brunei dollars.
The bridge bears the name of Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien, who guided Brunei through its modernization period in the twentieth century.
The bridge reduces travel time between Bandar Seri Begawan and Bangar from 45 minutes by water taxi to approximately 15 minutes by car.
Engineers incorporated specific lighting designs above driver sight lines that change colors for different events while maintaining optimal visibility conditions.
