Leventis Gallery, Art museum in central Nicosia, Cyprus.
Leventis Gallery is a contemporary art museum with three floors housing more than 800 paintings by Cypriot, Greek, and European artists. The building brings together artworks from different periods and cultural backgrounds in one space.
The museum emerged from an international architectural competition won by London-based Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, completed in 2013. It opened in 2014 and has since become part of Nicosia's cultural identity.
The gallery displays works by Cypriot artists alongside European and Greek paintings, showing how local and international artistic traditions exist together. This collection reflects the artistic exchange between Cyprus, Greece, and Europe over the past century.
Plan enough time to explore all three floors, especially if you want to spend time with individual works. The modern building is designed for easy navigation, with clear pathways and comfortable spacing between exhibition areas.
The building uses Palestinian limestone as its primary material and features custom-designed roof lights that filter UV rays. These openings preserve natural light throughout the exhibition spaces while protecting the artworks.
