Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Mansion, Ottoman era mansion in Saint Antonios, Cyprus
The mansion features a central garden with a fountain, three-room hammam, and two floors constructed from local sandstone blocks in a Greek letter Π shape.
Built in 1793, this residence belonged to Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios, who served as dragoman from 1779 to 1809 under Ottoman rule until his execution in Constantinople.
The first-floor reception area contains detailed wooden decorations that reflect the Ottoman Empire architectural influences throughout the Mediterranean region.
Located at 20 Patriarchou Grigoriou Street in Nicosia, the museum opens Tuesday through Friday from 08:30 to 15:30 and Saturday from 09:30 to 16:30.
The mansion received the Europa Nostra award for its renovation and now functions as the Ethnological Museum, displaying artifacts from Ottoman-era Cyprus.
