Morne Diablotin National Park, National park in northern Dominica
Morne Diablotin National Park spans 8,242 acres of mountainous terrain, containing the highest peak in Dominica at 4,747 feet above sea level.
The Dominican government established this protected area in 2000 to safeguard critical habitats and preserve the natural heritage of the island.
The park serves as the primary habitat for the Sisserou Parrot, which appears on the national flag of Dominica as a symbol of national identity.
Visitors can access the Syndicate Nature Trail within the park, which provides multiple observation points for watching native bird species.
The national park contains the second-highest mountain peak in the entire Lesser Antilles archipelago, featuring diverse ecological zones from lowland to mountain forests.
